‘Cold Sweat’ to have 14th int’l presence in US

Soheil Beiraqi’s ‘Cold Sweat’ is to go on screen in the US.

Soheil Beiraqi’s ‘Cold Sweat’ has been picked to go on screen at the 2019 Washington, DC International Film Festival in the US.

The award-winning Iranian flick will be screened at the US film event on Saturday, April 27, 2019. The venues for the film's screening are AMC Mazza Gallerie and Landmark’s E Street Cinema.

‘Cold Sweat’ narrates the story of a fictional character being a young athlete named Afrouz Ardestani, the captain of Iran women’s national futsal team. The team gets the chance to play at the finals of the Asian Championship League thanks to the goals Afrouz has scored.

On the day the team is to fly off to Malaysia for the match, Afrouz finds out that her husband has travel-banned her. Now she needs his permission to travel overseas.

The film has so far attended a number of national and international film events and has succeeded to bring home several awards.

It was premiered at the 36th Fajr Film Festival which brought Sahar Dolatshahi the Best Actress in a Supporting Role award. Amir Jadidi won the Best Actor in a Leading Role at the same film event.

Besides Jadidi and Dolatshahi, Baran Kosari, Leili Rashidi and Hoda Zeinolabedin are among the cast members.

The 33rd edition of the Washington, DC International Film Festival is slated for April 25-May 5, 2019.
